A 20-year-old woman was injured by glass from a drive-by shooting in Philadelphia early Thursday.
A 20-year-old woman was injured in a drive-by shooting early Thursday morning in Southwest Philadelphia after someone fired at least nine shots at her car near the intersection of 51st and Greenway Avenue.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. as she was returning home from work.
Though unhit by bullets, she sustained facial injuries from shattered glass after three bullet holes were found in the driver’s side window.
She drove half a block before being helped by family and taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed her injuries were from glass, not gunfire.
Police are investigating whether the shots came from a vehicle or a person on foot and are reviewing surveillance footage, but no arrests have been made.
