Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University has entered the global top 1% in chemistry research according to the November 2025 ESI update, based on its 381 chemistry papers and 8,450 citations over the past decade. This achievement adds chemistry to XJTLU’s list of six ESI Top 1% disciplines, including engineering, computer science, social sciences, environment/ecology, and economics & business. The university attributes its success to strategic investments in interdisciplinary collaboration, research facilities, and innovation support. It plans to strengthen assistance for early-career scientists and align research with global needs.
