Three York County Jail officers and inmate Connor McGlone were indicted for accepting and providing bribes.
Three former York County Jail officers—Kayleigh Hamilton, Emma Kehoe, and Zarek Melick—were indicted on charges related to allegedly accepting payments from inmate Connor McGlone, who was also charged in connection with the case.
The investigation, launched in April after a plot to bring contraband into the jail was uncovered, was halted before any items entered the facility.
All three officers resigned during the probe and each had served about 18 months at the jail.
Hamilton faces two counts of receiving improper gifts, Kehoe was charged with conspiracy and one count of the same, and Melick with one count.
McGlone, 29, with a prior criminal record, was indicted on conspiracy and four counts of providing improper gifts.
The Maine Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case, and Sheriff William King stated the actions do not reflect the professionalism of the rest of the corrections staff.
