A burglary occurred early Nov. 14, 2025, at Beija Flor, a Napier, New Zealand, boutique on Hastings and Tennyson Streets, where thieves broke in around 3:20 a.m., damaged display cabinets, stole merchandise, and fled after triggering the alarm, which captured footage. The store’s owner, who has managed it since 2014, said it was the first break-in during her tenure and expressed frustration over the timing, as repairs to custom cabinets will take about two weeks just before the busy Christmas season. Despite the damage, the store remained open, anticipating increased foot traffic from locals and cruise ship visitors. Police are investigating.
