Michael Connors sentenced to 6.5 years for attacking a Garda, drug crimes, and dangerous driving.
Michael Connors, 23, of Letterkenny, was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for endangering a Garda, dangerous driving, drug dealing, money laundering, and possessing cocaine for supply.
The 2020 incident occurred when he drove toward Garda Anthony Marren during an undercover operation, striking him despite the officer’s visible uniform and insignia.
Connors, on bail for a prior offense, admitted to using drug proceeds to fund luxury purchases and international trips while receiving welfare payments.
His defense claimed he believed he was under threat from social media, but the court found he knew the officer was a police officer.
He also faces a 10-year driving ban.
