Kia opens new PBV plant hub in South Korea, launching 250,000 annual electric delivery vehicle production by 2027.
Kia Corp. has completed its Hwaseong EVO Plant East and broken ground on EVO Plant West in South Korea, marking the launch of Hyundai Motor Group’s first dedicated PBV production hub.
The KRW 4 trillion ($2.74 billion) project spans nearly 300,000 square meters and will produce 250,000 PBVs annually, with 100,000 units from EVO Plant East and 150,000 from EVO Plant West.
The facilities will manufacture the PV5 and PV7 models, featuring eco-friendly technologies, automation, and flexible production systems.
A PBV Conversion Center will enable customized vehicle development.
The hub, set to begin operations in 2027, supports Kia’s global expansion in electric light commercial vehicles and its vision for sustainable, AI-driven mobility.
