Gauteng removed 84 unsafe vehicles and issued 1,539 fines in a crackdown on road safety violations from Nov. 3–9, 2025.
From November 3 to 9, 2025, Gauteng’s Transport Inspectorate removed 84 unroadworthy vehicles due to serious safety issues like faulty brakes and worn tyres, as part of a province-wide enforcement push.
The operation also uncovered 54 minibuses without valid licence discs, 40 vehicles failed for safety or mechanical reasons, and 72 drivers without valid licences.
A total of 1,539 infringement notices were issued, with 982 processed electronically.
The Gauteng MEC emphasized a zero-tolerance policy on non-compliance to improve road safety.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution on the R24, where roadwork continues through November 16.
