Everllence has launched the world’s first dual-fuel two-stroke ammonia engine, designed to run on ammonia with safety features like double-walled piping and advanced sensors. Scheduled for delivery in Q1 2026, with testing beginning in Q4 2025, the engine is part of pilot projects with major shipping companies. It uses a small pilot fuel to ignite ammonia and is digitally connected for real-time monitoring. Available in multiple bore sizes, retrofit options are expected. The technology supports decarbonization of deep-sea shipping.
