Brisbane Film Festival cancels outdoor Jaws screening due to costs and logistics, but other events proceed.
The Brisbane International Film Festival has canceled a planned outdoor screening of Jaws and Beast of War at Streets Beach due to rising costs and logistical issues, despite a condensed four-day schedule and limited resources.
The event, originally set for November 29, will not proceed, but ticket holders receive refunds and complimentary future tickets.
Other festival events, including a 25th anniversary Bring It On screening, a Jeff Buckley documentary concert, and two Jaws showings at QPAC with live orchestral music, remain on schedule.
BIFF aims to return to Streets Beach in future years.
