Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police seized 15 kg of meth worth Rs 45 crore in Mizoram, arresting two Assam men.
On November 12–13, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police seized 15 kg of methamphetamine worth Rs 45 crore in Saitual district, Mizoram, intercepting a vehicle on the Ngopa-Saitual Road based on intelligence. Two men from Assam’s Barpeta—Rabizul Haq and Naasiruddin—were arrested. The drugs, likely from Myanmar, were part of a larger trafficking network using the porous India-Myanmar border. The haul is one of the largest recent seizures in the region. Authorities credited coordinated efforts and urged public cooperation. This follows similar operations in Cachar and other northeastern districts.
