A Washington man was arrested after a standoff involving swords, threats, and property damage; no injuries occurred.
A 56-year-old man, Jose Franco Nunez, was arrested in Chelan County, Washington, after a standoff involving two samurai-style swords and threats.
On November 11, deputies responded to reports of a man acting irrationally on a hillside, initially mistaking the weapons for a rifle.
Nunez threatened a tenant, broke windows in a Jeep and trailer, and barricaded himself in his home, allegedly claiming to have a gun and threatening to harm officers.
After failed negotiations and SWAT deployment of pepper balls, he surrendered peacefully.
No injuries occurred.
He was booked on multiple felony charges including burglary, assault, harassment, and malicious mischief.
A full report was expected the following day.
