The Quad Cities has been named Iowa’s Technology Community of the Year at the 20th Annual Prometheus Awards, recognizing its advancements in tech innovation, infrastructure, and workforce development. The region, which is 100% fiber-optic, earned acclaim for Amazon’s expanded robotics center, John Deere’s Tech Innovation Center, and Grace Technologies’ nationally recognized Wearable Voltage Detector. Strong collaboration among businesses, educators like Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, and government agencies fueled the region’s growth. The award highlights the Quad Cities’ role in strengthening Iowa’s tech economy amid a record number of nominations across 15 categories.
