Ontario Provincial Police and Windsor Police seized 46 kilograms of suspected fentanyl in Windsor, the largest such haul in OPP history, during a joint operation that began in late 2024.
The drugs, valued at $6.5 million, could produce up to 460,000 street doses and potentially be lethal to nearly the entire Windsor-Essex population based on a 0.1-gram lethal dose.
Authorities also recovered cocaine, heroin, firearms, body armor, cash, and digital devices.
Two men—aged 25 and 28—were charged with multiple counts including drug trafficking and gun possession.
The investigation into the fentanyl’s source continues.
