Peugeot reveals the retro-inspired electric Polygon concept, previewing its next 208 due in 2027, as sales in Australia decline.
Peugeot has unveiled the Polygon concept, an electric hatchback inspired by the 1987–1994 205 GTi, to preview the next-generation 208 expected around 2027.
The concept features retro styling with short overhangs, a thick C-pillar with a charging port, and a rear wing inspired by the Group B T16 Evo rally car, paired with modern elements like butterfly doors, a digital i-Cockpit, and a steer-by-wire system with adjustable ratios.
Interior components are modular and made from recycled materials.
While the 208 remains a top seller in Europe in 2025, Peugeot’s Australian sales fell 31.2% through October, with no confirmed plans for the new 208 or its electric variant in the country.
