Petrobras’ P-79 FPSO leaves South Korea for Brazil’s Búzios field, with first oil possible two months early.
Petrobras’ P-79 FPSO has departed South Korea for Brazil’s Búzios field, with arrival expected in February 2026 and production starting in August.
The platform, capable of producing 180,000 barrels of oil daily, will boost the field’s capacity by 15.6%, contributing to its status as Petrobras’ largest producing field.
It is the eighth of 12 planned FPSOs for the ultra-deepwater field, which surpassed 1 million barrels per day in October.
The vessel, built with international components and towed with crew aboard, may bring first oil forward by two months.
