Massey University in New Zealand opened Ngā Huia, a $70 million state-of-the-art veterinary facility, completing a $160 million upgrade to its Palmerston North campus.
The new building replaces a quake-prone 1970s structure and supports the country’s only veterinary training program, housing advanced labs, classrooms, and student spaces for about 750 students.
Designed with Māori cultural input, it emphasizes animal health, food security, and zoonotic disease research.
The school, ranked among the top in Asia and Australasia and within the global top 20, will begin full student use next year, with staff moving in soon.
