Fifty-five new police officers graduated in New Zealand, starting frontline duty on November 24, 2025.
On November 13, 2025, 55 new police officers graduated from New Zealand Police Wing 389 in Porirua, beginning frontline service across districts including Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Central.
The diverse cohort, with backgrounds in security, construction, coaching, and customer service, includes individuals who transitioned from careers in beauty therapy and military service.
Top graduate Millie-Maree Sedgwick, returning to Canterbury, and Leadership Award winner Jordan Bremner, drawing on military experience, were highlighted.
Others received awards for physical training, firearms, and road policing.
The new constables, 27.3% female and mostly New Zealand European, will start duty on November 24, 2025, continuing on-the-job training as probationary officers.
The ceremony was attended by Police Commissioner Richard Chambers, Associate Minister Casey Costello, and wing patron Cameron Leslie.
