Australia funds Laronix’s AI voice tech to restore speech for patients who lost their voice.
Laronix, an Australian medical tech company, has secured a AUD $3.2 million (USD $2.1 million) non-dilutive grant from the Australian Government’s Industry Growth Program to accelerate the development and commercial launch of its AI-powered MIRA Voice system.
The technology aims to restore natural-sounding speech for patients who have lost their voice due to laryngectomy, ICU intubation, or neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease.
Building on its existing AVA Voice device used in over 40 hospitals across the U.S. and Australia, Laronix is advancing MIRA-AI, an AI system that recreates a patient’s original voice with high realism.
The funding will support the transition from prototype to clinical testing and market availability within two years.
