Western Texas College appoints Dr. Laurie Sharp as its new president, effective December 1, succeeding Dr. Barbara Beebe.
The Western Texas College Board of Trustees unanimously appointed Dr. Laurie Sharp as president on November 10, 2025, with her start date set for December 1, succeeding Dr. Barbara Beebe.
Sharp, the sole finalist after a mandatory 21-day waiting period, becomes the college’s seventh president.
Ralph Ramon, currently vice president and dean of student services, will serve as interim president starting November 17.
