Two ZANU-PF-linked students attacked during election campaign; victims tortured and left injured 120 km away.
Two Chinhoyi University of Technology students were abducted and tortured during a student election campaign, allegedly by members of a rival student group linked to the ruling ZANU-PF party.
The victims, taken from Mzimba Shopping Centre in an unmarked grey Isuzu, were found 120 kilometers away in Shamva with severe injuries, unable to walk or sit.
They said they were held for over 12 hours and assaulted for allegedly criticizing the government.
Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa and Amnesty International condemned the attack as part of a broader pattern of political repression, calling for a full investigation and warning of threats to free expression and student safety.
