Tanaka launches TK-SR, the world’s first rhodium-based probe pin material for semiconductors, boosting durability and cutting costs.
Tanaka Precious Metal Technologies has launched TK-SR, the world’s first rhodium-based material for semiconductor probe pins, combining high strength, elasticity, hardness, and conductivity to improve durability and reduce breakage during testing.
Designed for narrow-pitch chips, it can be manufactured as thin as 18 micrometers and is expected to extend probe card life and lower maintenance costs.
The material will be showcased at SWTest Asia 2025 in Fukuoka, Japan, with production set to double by 2030.
