Shaggy leads a Dec. 12 NYC concert to raise $1M for Hurricane Melissa victims in Jamaica.
Jamaican artists, led by Shaggy, are mobilizing a major relief effort following Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm that devastated western Jamaica.
Shaggy will headline a December 12 benefit concert at UBS Arena in New York as part of the "I Love Jamaica" Concert Series, endorsed by Jamaica’s government, to raise at least $1 million for the official Hurricane Relief Fund.
The event, organized by Jamaica Strong NY Inc. with multiple partners, will feature top Jamaican and international artists, with all proceeds going directly to affected families, students, and communities in St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, St. James, and Hanover.
Tickets go on pre-sale November 12–13, with general sales beginning November 14.
Additional aid efforts include supply shipments, humanitarian flights, and donations from artists like Sean Paul, Buju Banton, and Cedella Marley.
