Nigeria's PDP suspended its Anambra gubernatorial candidate for poor performance and misconduct after he won just 1,401 votes.
The Anambra State chapter of Nigeria's PDP has suspended its gubernatorial candidate, Jude Ezenwafor, for one month following the November 8 election, citing poor performance, failure to campaign, and alleged sabotage.
The party accused Ezenwafor of not holding meetings, claiming false assassination attempts, and forming a non-party group to interfere in party affairs.
With only 1,401 votes—placing sixth—Ezenwafor secured just one vote in his home ward.
The suspension, approved by the state executive committee, will refer him to the disciplinary committee, and the national working committee will not recognize his activities.
Despite the suspension, Ezenwafor publicly congratulated re-elected Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The APGA won with 422,664 votes, followed by APC, YPP, and Labour Party.
The PDP said it would not challenge the results and pledged to rebuild under new leadership.
