Maharashtra wins top National Water Award 2024 for water conservation; ceremony Nov. 18.
Maharashtra won top honors in the 6th National Water Awards 2024 for water conservation, with Gujarat and Haryana second and third.
The awards, announced by Jal Shakti Minister C R Paatil, recognize excellence across 10 categories.
Forty-six winners were selected from 751 applications submitted via the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal starting October 23, 2024, following jury evaluation and on-site verification.
Winners will receive citations, trophies, and cash prizes, with the award ceremony on November 18, where President Droupadi Murmu will present honors.
The awards, launched in 2018, support India’s 'Jal Samridh Bharat' initiative.
