Labour gains in polls after capital gains tax announcement; coalition leads in projected seats.

A November 2025 Taxpayers’ Union-Curia poll shows Labour at 33.3%, up 2.1 points, following its capital gains tax announcement, while the centre-right coalition leads with a projected 62 seats versus the centre-left bloc’s 60. National rose to 30.2%, ACT gained to 8.6%, the Greens fell to 9.2%, and New Zealand First dropped to 9.1%. David Seymour’s popularity surged 16 points to 7.7%, while Chris Hipkins dipped slightly to 20.6%. The poll of 1,000 respondents has a margin of error of ±3.1%.
