Ghana’s Majority Leader accuses Minority Leader of defying Parliament by attending ECOWAS session in Nigeria.
Ghana’s Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has filed a contempt complaint against Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for attending the ECOWAS Parliament session in Nigeria despite being excluded from Ghana’s official delegation by a July 2025 parliamentary resolution.

The incident delayed Ghana’s delegation swearing-in, prompting Ayariga to intervene.
Meanwhile, Public Accounts Committee Chair Abena Osei-Asare denied conflict of interest allegations, citing procedural safeguards and past precedents, while other MPs dismissed the challenge as unfounded.
