John Setka, 61, former head of the CFMEU’s Victorian branch, was arrested in Melbourne and charged with seven counts of using a communication device to menace, harass, and offend, allegedly for sending threatening emails to union administrator Mark Irving KC. Police seized his phone and iPad during a home raid. Setka, who stepped down in 2024 amid corruption and violence investigations and has a 2019 harassment conviction, was granted bail and is due in court on January 30, 2025.
