India to host WHO summit on traditional medicine in Dec 2025, promoting global integration and scientific standards.
India is preparing to host the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in New Delhi from December 17–19, 2025, alongside the World Health Organization.
The event, themed “Restoring Balance: The Science and Practice of Health and Wellbeing,” aims to advance evidence-based traditional medicine through global cooperation, research, and improved quality standards.
Organized by India’s Ministry of Ayush, it will promote integration of traditional healing with modern healthcare, support universal health coverage, and strengthen international frameworks.
With 170 WHO member states already using traditional medicine, the summit highlights India’s leadership in advancing science-based practices, supported by initiatives like the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar and the Traditional Medicine Global Library.
