A homeless man was arrested in Fargo for allegedly trying to steal $50,000 from a bank without violence.
A 36-year-old homeless man, Kashif Grant, was arrested in Fargo, North Dakota, on November 11, 2025, after entering a Wells Fargo branch and allegedly demanding $50,000, claiming he was robbing the bank.
No weapons were used, and no threats or injuries occurred.
Police responded around 2:30 p.m., took Grant into custody without incident, and determined the situation did not meet the legal definition of robbery.
Grant, who has no permanent address and has a prior arrest for a similar incident in 2023, is being held on a felony charge of attempted theft.
The case has been sent to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
