Bipartisan Deal Ends Record U.S. Government Shutdown, Funds Agencies Through January, Excludes ACA Subsidy Extension.
A bipartisan bill to end the longest U.S. government shutdown in history has passed a key Senate vote, securing funding through January 30, 2026, and including full-year appropriations for military construction, agriculture, and veterans’ affairs.
It ensures reimbursement for states that maintained SNAP and WIC programs during the shutdown and guarantees back pay for furloughed federal workers.
However, the legislation does not extend Affordable Care Act health care subsidies, a major Democratic concern, which will be voted on separately in December.
The bill now moves to the House, where lawmakers are preparing to return, before potentially reaching President Donald Trump’s desk.
El acuerdo bipartidista pone fin al cierre récord del gobierno de los Estados Unidos, financia a las agencias hasta enero, excluye la extensión de los subsidios de la ACA.
