Alabama Governor Kay Ivey appointed Will Parker, her longtime general counsel, to the state’s Supreme Court on November 10, 2025, filling the seat vacated by Judge Bill Lewis, who was confirmed as a federal judge.
Parker, a 2006 University of Alabama law graduate, has served in the governor’s office since 2017 and was named general counsel in 2019.
He previously worked as assistant attorney general and taught U.S. history.
Governor Ivey praised his legal expertise, integrity, and role in advancing key state legislation.
Parker was sworn in immediately and pledged to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law.
