Two FedEx workers were hospitalized with minor acid burns after a four-liter sulphuric acid spill at the company’s Unanderra facility on November 10, 2025.
The men, aged in their 20s and 50s, sustained arm and leg injuries, were treated at Wollongong Hospital, and released the same day.
NSW HAZMAT teams contained and neutralized the spill.
This follows a separate 500-liter sulphuric acid leak from a pipe at a water treatment plant near Bomaderry on November 8, which caused no injuries.
Sulphuric acid is a highly corrosive chemical used in industrial processes.
FedEx said employee safety is its top priority and is cooperating with investigators.
