Singapore will charge passengers up to S$41.60 per ticket starting October 2026 to fund sustainable aviation fuel use.
Starting April 1, 2026, Singapore will impose a sustainable aviation fuel levy on passengers departing from its airports, with fees ranging from S$1 to S$41.60 per ticket based on destination and class, applying to flights from October 1, 2026.
The funds will support a centralized SAF procurement effort to meet a 1% SAF use target by 2026 and 3–5% by 2030.
Transit passengers are exempt, and a separate weight-based levy for cargo is under development.
The levy, set below earlier estimates due to lower SAF costs, will be clearly displayed on tickets.
