Pakistan hosts first Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference to advance global cooperation on peace, climate, and democracy.
Pakistan is hosting the inaugural Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference in Islamabad from November 11–12, 2025, bringing together leaders from over 40 countries to discuss peace, security, development, and climate justice.
The event, led by Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, marks Pakistan’s growing role in global diplomacy and the formal launch of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), established in April 2025.
Delegates from nations including Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Malaysia, Algeria, and Kenya will focus on strengthening legislative cooperation, advancing democratic governance, and addressing crises like Gaza’s humanitarian situation and climate vulnerability.
The conference aims to produce the Islamabad Declaration, promote climate equity, and build institutional capacity through parliamentary action, reflecting Pakistan’s shift from participant to convener in international dialogue.
