Nigerian lawmaker Abdulmumin Jibrin returns to APC, backs Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
On November 10, 2025, Nigerian lawmaker Abdulmumin Jibrin, representing Kiru/Bebeji in Kano State, announced his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
Jibrin, expelled from the NNPP two months prior over alleged anti-party activities and unpaid dues, said his constituents, including nearly 2,000 Islamic clerics, had unanimously decided to rejoin the APC.
He cited a commitment to national unity and development, emphasizing strong ties to Tinubu, with whom he previously served as director-general of his support network.
The move signals a notable political shift in Kano State ahead of the 2027 elections.
