Julia Morrissey, a Bathurst volunteer, named 2025 Netball NSW Community Volunteer of the Year, first from Central West to win.
Julia Morrissey, a Bathurst-based netball volunteer, has been named Community Volunteer of the Year at the 2025 Netball NSW Awards, becoming the first from the Central West to receive the honor.
A longtime player and coach, she has served in multiple leadership roles at the Out of Touch Netball Club, including president and registrar, and helped launch the region’s first All Abilities netball program in 2024, which doubled in size within a year.
She also supports the Bathurst Netball Association and coaches youth teams.
Morrissey, who began volunteering when her daughter started school, said her motivation is passion for the sport and community, not recognition.
