Eni and Petronas to launch up to 8 oil and gas projects in Indonesia and Malaysia, boosting output to over 500,000 barrels daily.
Eni and Petronas are launching up to eight new upstream oil and gas projects in Indonesia and Malaysia within three years through their joint venture, NewCo, following a $15 billion, five-year investment to develop proven reserves.
Initial production will exceed 300,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with plans to grow beyond 500,000 boe/d.
The projects, part of Eni’s satellite model strategy, aim to expand existing assets and explore new prospects.
The move supports regional energy growth and aligns with broader efforts in sustainable development, including Malaysia’s first offshore carbon capture and storage permit and a major green sukuk issuance.
