Delhi High Court blocks unauthorized use of Jaya Bachchan’s image, name, and voice, including AI, but allows movie posters.
The Delhi High Court has granted interim protection to actor and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan’s personality rights, blocking unauthorized commercial use of her image, name, and voice, including AI-generated content, but declined to ban her image on movie posters, citing copyright ownership and need for due process. The court ordered websites to be blocked and allowed her legal team to correct clerical errors in the complaint. The case, which alleges misuse of her likeness for merchandise and digital exploitation, is set for further hearing on April 16. This follows previous rulings protecting the personality rights of other Indian celebrities.
