The Cessna Citation Ascend earned FAA certification, paving the way for 2025 deliveries as a more efficient, modern business jet.
The Cessna Citation Ascend has received FAA type certification following a 1,000-hour flight test campaign, marking a key milestone for Textron’s midsize business jet. Designed as a successor to the Citation XLS Gen2, it features a modern cockpit with Garmin’s G5000 avionics, including autothrottles and synthetic vision, and a cabin with a flat floor, larger windows, and seating for up to 12 passengers, with optional high-speed Wi-Fi. Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545D engines with FADEC, it offers improved climb, speed, and fuel efficiency, with a range of 1,900 nautical miles. Production is underway, with deliveries expected later in 2025.
