Starting December 1, 2025, several Oman governorates will begin taking over municipal waste collection and transport from Be’ah, expanding a government-led reform aimed at improving efficiency and local oversight.
The transition, part of a broader strategy to modernize waste management, will extend to multiple regions by January 1, 2026, with Be’ah retaining control of technical facilities and circular economy initiatives.
This shift follows earlier transfers, including Muscat Municipality’s takeover in October 2025, and supports Oman’s sustainability goals under Vision 2040.
