Pennsylvania to hold hearing on bill promoting equal parenting time for fit parents.
State Representative Jamie Flick will host a hearing and press conference on Nov. 18 at the Pennsylvania Capitol to advance House Bill 1499, which seeks to establish equal parenting time as the default when both parents are fit and willing.
The bill, backed by 29 bipartisan co-sponsors, aims to improve children’s well-being by promoting shared parenting, building on recent reforms including Act 11 of 2024 and Act 40 of 2025.
Flick’s amendment to Act 11 requires updated custody guidelines to be shared within 30 days of changes, enhancing transparency, especially for self-represented parents.
The events will feature national supporters and aim to highlight broad support for fairer custody practices.
