The Northeast Frontier Railway reported a 3.9% rise in freight loading from April to October 2025, reaching 6.39 million tonnes, driven by strong growth in cement, food grains, fertilizers, containers, and stone chips. The increase reflects rising regional economic activity and improved revenue. NFR, operating across northeastern India and parts of West Bengal and Bihar, continues to expand rail connectivity to Imphal and Kohima while investing in technical upgrades to boost service reliability and efficiency.
