Nigerian company OERL completes sailaway of first domestically funded, converted FPSO for Okwok field, set for 2025 deployment.
Oriental Energy Resources (OERL) has completed the sailaway of its EMEM FPSO vessel from Dubai, marking Nigeria’s first fully funded and converted FPSO by a domestic company.
The 40,000 bpd vessel, set for deployment at the Okwok field offshore Nigeria in Q4 2025, will process, store, and export crude oil, connecting to five production wells.
It will handle up to 70,000 barrels of liquids daily and store up to one million barrels, operating for up to 15 years without drydocking.
The project, supported by government agencies and attended by senior Nigerian officials, represents a major step toward energy independence and private sector-led development in Nigeria’s oil industry.
