Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues joked she wasn’t sure Australia would let her enter after India’s World Cup semi-final win, but received a warm welcome in Brisbane for her WBBL debut with the Brisbane Heat. Playing in a rain-affected opener against the Melbourne Renegades, she scored six runs off nine balls as Heat were bowled out for 133. The Renegades chased down the revised target of 66 in eight overs, with Courtney Webb scoring 34 not out and Georgia Wareham adding 16. The win marked the Renegades’ first of the season. Rodrigues’ comments reflected the post-tournament goodwill following India’s historic World Cup triumph.
