On November 8, 2025, India’s Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized a leopard skin with head in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, after intercepting three individuals at a hotel based on intelligence.
The trophy, protected under Schedule I of India’s Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, is illegal to possess, trade, or sell.
The suspects and seized item were handed over to the Bhopal Forest Division for legal action.
