Enzo Fernandez is out of Argentina’s friendlies due to a worsening knee injury with bone edema.
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has ruled himself out of Argentina’s upcoming international friendlies due to a worsening knee injury, citing bone edema that has persisted for four months and intensified from a packed schedule.
Despite playing 83 minutes in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Wolverhampton and providing key assists, Fernandez said he prioritized long-term health and followed medical advice to rest.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed Fernandez requested a substitution due to pain, while teammate Moises Caicedo was assessed as fine after a minor knee knock.
Pedro Neto also exited with a groin issue.
The club will monitor both players ahead of future matches.
