Dr. Wole Oluyede, a physician based in Australia, has won the PDP governorship primary in Ekiti State, securing 279 votes to become the party’s candidate for the 2026 gubernatorial election.
He defeated Funso Ayeni, who received 239 votes, and Funmilayo Ogun, who garnered 17.
The vote, held at the Vino Event Centre in Ado-Ekiti, was conducted peacefully with delegates from all 16 local government areas, monitored by INEC and security forces.
Oluyede praised the transparency of the process and pledged to promote unity and good governance, vowing to challenge the ruling APC’s misrule.
