An art show featuring local teacher and mentor artists opened in Chillicothe, running through November 30.
The "Brushes of the Ohio Valley" art exhibition opened November 6, 2025, at Chillicothe’s Pump House Center for the Arts, featuring works by Piketon High School art teacher Ross Wheeler and mentor artist Paul Brown.
Wheeler, a 17-year veteran teacher, displayed pieces including “Afterglow’s Exchange,” a sold artwork that earned a top 100 spot in PleinAir Magazine’s 2025 Salon Art Competition, and “Gold on the Ground,” inspired by fall leaves.
Brown, a seasoned oil painter, exhibited family-themed works, including a pencil sketch of his father’s 1922-built barn.
All artwork is for sale, the show is sponsored by Gary Depugh of Mill City Apparel, and runs through November 30, followed by the Annual Holiday Gift Show.
The center is open daily except Mondays, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
