Toronto Pearson's $2B, 10-year expansion aims to modernize terminals amid rising global travel demand.
Toronto Pearson International Airport is launching a multibillion-dollar, decade-long expansion called LIFT to modernize Terminal 1 and upgrade Terminal 3 amid projected global passenger growth.
The project, led by the GTAA and a consortium named PACT, begins with utility and secure area upgrades, with new boarding bridges, remote parking, and shuttle buses expected.
While the GTAA says fee increases are speculative, experts and airline reps suggest higher passenger and landing fees are likely due to the project’s scale and lack of competition among major Canadian airports.
Construction has not yet started, and final plans are still being developed.
