Nigerian man deported from Hyderabad for visa overstay and suspected drug trafficking.
A 43-year-old Nigerian national, Johnkennedy Chukwuemeka Okoro, was deported from Hyderabad on November 7, 2025, after being apprehended by the Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) for overstaying his business visa since 2012 and allegedly engaging in drug peddling.
Though no drugs were found during his arrest near Asif Nagar, authorities confirmed his expired passport and visa and linked him to illegal drug activities.
He had lived in India illegally, frequently traveling between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
The H-NEW, in coordination with the FRRO, completed his deportation, marking the 22nd such case since the unit’s inception, including 10 this year.
Police warned that some foreign nationals overstay visas and may engage in drug-related crimes, urging the public to report suspicious activity via a dedicated hotline.
